Character

I'm doing poetry this month, in case you missed the first post* (see note at the end)

Violet Mirrored Illusion by Phil Manker

Is it the truth,
Or something the society wants to believe?
Is it philanthropy,
Or something done to appear good?
Is it honesty,
Or an attempt to pretend?
Is it emotion,
Or a response dictated by the general trend?
Is it character,
Or a facade, something we can't comprehend?

Questions... Just questions.

Note: I'm still pondering over poems with the letters G, I and K. If you would like to read one about a specific topic for these letters please drop a word in the comments below.
Thanks.

  3. I have to agree with Damyanti! I love how you ended it. And yes, we are always asking questions, aren't we?! :)

  4. How about Greatness for G?
    "is it the truth or is it something society wants to believe?" A favorite quote of mine when things aren't the way people keep saying they are is: "the emperor has no clothes".

  6. Yes. Don't you think it's all of that? I think it depends on the person, the day, the time, and the way the wind is blowing. Enjoying your poetry. See you later.

  14. There are certainly people out there who do "good" for self-serving reasons, or they need to publicly pat themselves on the back for every kind deed. Your poem makes me think about that.

    A new follower here. Found you through A to Z.

  21. Very good questions indeed. Sometimes it takes a while to get to know a person before these question really get answered for us.

  22. K is for...
    * kaleidoscope
    * keenness
    * keystone
    * Keats
    * kick in the head
    * knock your block off
    * ki-rin
    * knowledge
    * knight in shining armour
    * knave of hearts
    * kingly mien
    * Kendal mint cake (it's the best)
    * keyboard (where would you be without it?)
    * kunzite (hey, it's an interesting mineral!)
    * keeping to yourself
    * keeping up with friends
    * keeping quiet
    * keeping the faith
    * keeping your cool
    * keeping your eyes peeled
    * keep on keeping on!

    Or you could just write a poem in Klingon.

    I'm stuck on an idea for K myself, actually....
