I'm doing poetry this month, in case you missed the first post.

The heavy downpour and the setting sun.
When forgiving and forgetting are easier said than done.
What do you do,
When all you have left are memories?

The easy banter and the salty quarrels.
When everyday's riddled with epiphanies of betrayal.
How do you act,
When all you have left are memories?

The playground swing and the coffee shop.
When the past is resurrected by even detour stops.
Where do you go,
When all you have left are memories?

When do you stop looking back,
And towards a future bleak?
When memories are all you have,
For you to throw or keep?

  1. This is brilliant! I loved the repetition of 'when all you have left are memories' - it leaves an impression of the memories' persistence.

(Ugh. You know studies have gotten to you when the word persistence reminds you persistence of vision/hearing.)

The last stanza was my favourite!

  2. Oooh, I like!

I'm impressed by everyone who is doing a "theme" for the A-Z! :)

  3. Beautiful and sad. The photo pairing makes it feel so lonely.

  4. very nicely the detour stops line.

I nominated you for the Liebster Award
